Mackenzie's hot date!
Last night we had some friends over for a bbq. Eli is 6 months older then Mackenzie and they got along so well. She just laughs at him all the time! The kids played great together and we're going to have to do it again soon.
I am not sure what they were doing here but it was pretty comical...
They loved the slide and got more courageous on moves as the night went...
At the end of the evening they were pretty dirty and here they are sharing a bath.
Eli is such a little lovebug. Everytime in the past whenever he sees Mackenzie he is always trying to hug on her and she doesn't want anything to do with it. Last night after bath we put Bolt on and she layed down on me and fell asleep. Eli took this opportunity and came over and gave her a kiss on her cheek. It was pretty cute and I'm sure he knew that would be the only time he could do it.

Oh Oh Olives!
Mackenzie loves olives. Of course what kid doesn't? It's the first thing she picks off a slice of pizza to eat. She can't get enough. She will even get into the pantry and bring me cans of sliced olives.
Here is the first time that she's had them on her fingers and she loved it!

Memorial Day BBQ
Late Monday afternoon we had my side of the family over for a bbq. It was great weather for burgers and dogs it was nice to be out back. Mackenzie's cousins are grown and the little girl pictured is Mackenzie's second cousin Paisley. She is 11 months old and it was cute to see them starting to play together.
Here they are trying to find Paisley's Daddy hiding under the sandbox cover.
This went on for a little while. Ball being thrown and Daddy and Mackenzie punching it away. Mackenzie was loving it.
Sure, why not drag her around in a tote and find ramps to take her over. Once again, loving it. Big boys always think up fun games!
look at that concentration...

Taking the Boat Out
Last weekend was so nice we had decided we'd take the boat out for the first time this year. It was a very hot day and we even got in the 67 degree water. Except Mackenzie, her turn is coming.

Feeding Ducks

I just had to share an email from my parents. They took Mackenzie to this local park yesterday. Mackenzie is really into ducks and so they thought it would be fun. Here is what my Mom wrote of their day.
'Mack loved seeing the spray of water from the fountain. Picked some wild yellow flowers and met up with a duck family, Momma, Poppa and one little fledging and a strange colored white duck. Fed them some bread and Gramps said "let Mack feed them" and so I did but she ate the bread.
Mack seemed to enjoy herself. Made sure she stayed out of the duck poo.'
It puts a smile on my face to be sitting at my desk at work and get an email about her cute day she is having with her grandparents.

Here we are walking to It's A Small World.
It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

i ♥ faces - Blurb Photo Contest

Entries - Amateurs/Beginners Category
So this is my first attempt at this. There are so many great photos out there, I definately am in the amateur category. The idea for this week was to pick out your favorite all time face photo. I have a lot of favorites but this is my most recent one. I thought it captured the moment....
We were outside and my husband was blowing bubbles and Mackenzie was getting so excited about it. I like that this picture captures what a mess she can be. I love the light coming through her disarrayed hair and she has some sand on her chin but still has a sweet look on her face. She was playing hard that day!
"I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb Book photo contest. I am granting I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites."

Clover & Cows
I love clover fields and where we live you see plenty of it. I also love that I can drive about 3 miles and be surrounded by all this farmland.

Hi Grandma, here are some pictures for you. I know you told Mommy yesterday that you were missing me. Grandma you know what I did yesterday? We were playing out in the yard with the BUBBLES! I was a mess of dirt and sand..it was so much fun! See you tomorrow!
Mackenzie put Nemo and Dory on the seat and pushed them around.( you can barely see a blurry Nemo on the seat behind her) She had so much fun doing this. She did it for quite awhile so I jumped in and walked the circle with her but I had to bail out, I was so dizzy! Funny what kids can endure.

Mackenzie ♥'s her Daddy
All the rough housing, wrestling, tossing her up in the air. He does it all with her and she always comes back for more! And all the snuggling on the couch moments in between.
The other day he was happy to come home from work and see this message in the driveway. It's the little things that can make a Daddy's day.(even if Mommy helped)

Just a Swingin'
What a great sunny day. We started off our day going to a plant sale at a local high school then on to Target for a few things. Stopped by work and took Daddy lunch. Came home and I mowed the yard while Mackenzie played in her sandbox.
Then later once Daddy got home we finally got the swingset put up. We've had it just over a year and figured this would be a great weekend to get it out.
