ZOO SUNDAY

Today Mackenzie and I went to the zoo with a friend April and her son Hunter. We decided to ride the Max because it drops you right there and you don't have to pay to park and you also save a $1 off admission. And it's also fun for the kids to ride.

When we first got there we saw some zoo keepers at the tiger and leopard cages and they had just put some mounds of snow in their cage with hidden sausages to attract them. So that was pretty neat, being able to see them up close. Mackenzie seemed to be more into the animals this time around and was able to see them better.

They are also having a Dinosaur exhibit right now and Mackenzie and I went through that. They are pretty large and they move and make noise when you are in front of them. She did pretty good until the huge mean Tyrannosaurus growled loud. It scared her and she didn't like it. I actually didn't blame her, he WAS scary looking! But it was a pretty cool exhibit and I wanted to see it before it went away.

We also went into the lorakeet area. This is one of my favorites because for $1 you can buy small cups of nectar and they will fly up to you and land on your hand and drink out of the cup. April had not been in there before and she didn't like how the birds would fly right by, felt like she was getting attacked. It was pretty funny. I was only able to get one bird to land on my hand to drink. I was surprised they were not more hungry.

It was a good day and it was so good I hope to take her again before summer is over.
Here are some pictures of our day.
