We took off for one nights lodging at Kahneeta Resort located in Warm Springs.
Steve had never been there and I hadn't been since I had graduated from high school. So yes, it has been awhile! We also thought Austin and Val might enjoy it.
When we had headed out from home we had all taken showers and I brought no makeup or anything for hair. We knew we'd be in water all day and it was nice to not have to deal with making ourselves up. Just the bare necessities....and a hat.
They have added a couple water slides and also a baby slide. We stayed in a teepee at the village. Pretty primitive but whenever do ya get the chance? It had a steel fire pit inside, picnic table and concrete floor. Plenty of room inside but basically we used it to hold our stuff and sleep in. We didn't build a fire, knew it would be one more thing to watch Mackenzie around. We brought air mattresses and Mackenzie's pack n play and we were actually pretty comfy. Of course from swimming all day the kids were out as soon as their heads hit their pillows.
We arrived around 11:30 and made sandwiches in our teepee. Headed to the pool and it was already packed. Luckily found a couple chairs to put our things on. Steve and the kids headed towards the slides and they pretty much did that most the time. I stayed with Mackenzie and hung out with her. I knew the next day was my turn for the slides.
After we were done in the pool for the day we drove up the hill to the resort/casino and had dinner there. Came back and of course we didn't think to bring a frisbee, cards or any games. So I came up with the old fashioned idea of playing charades! We started off doing the regular book, movie, tv show but it seemed too difficult for the kids. So we went to doing verbs or occupations. That turned out to be pretty funny. We had a good time acting out all the crazy ideas.
Next morning we got up and had cereal and headed to the pool for a few hours before we'd have to pack up and leave. What a difference getting there as soon as it opened. Tons of chairs open for the picking.
We all enjoyed Kahneeta, the experience of it, and seeing the different countryside over there. Steve and I both agreed that when it's 90 degrees outside, playing in a pool of a natural hot springs is really not refreshing. We would like to go again but kidless, with some other adults and when it's not during the heated season. And check out the casino too.
