This is Mackenzie with the help from me counting to 10. Sometimes she does it better then other times. But she is making progress.
I was thinking today and about how behind she is with talking. I have a feeling that a chatterbox is buried inside of her and before long she'll be one of those students making trips to the principals office for her excessive talking. I tended to talk a lot in class when I was in school, though I never had to leave the classroom. Wasn't school for socializing? ha!

Movie with Gramps
Last Sunday I went to a friends baby shower and I asked my parents if they'd come in while Mackenzie napped. Well, she didn't nap and instead stayed up. Always afraid she might missing something I guess.
Grandma was nice enough to grab my camera and take a picture of Mack sitting with Gramps watching Finding Nemo

PURE DETERMINATION....
AND PURE SATISFACTION....
Mackenzie got this quad from Santa and at first she was a little timid of it. But lately she's been getting on it and riding it from one end to the other. And she is even steering the thing around any obstacle that she left out. Good job Mackenzie!
We're anxious for better weather to get here so it can soon live outside and give her more room for exploring.

BATHS CAN BE FUN...
Mack is now starting to enjoy laying back in the tub. She does it over and over...and over and over. At least it's easier to rinse her hair.

200th POST
So this is my 200th post on Mackenzie's blog in 2 years. Looking back there sure has been some fun times and it's been wonderful to share her changes with family and friends. Thank you for sharing along in her life.
Here are a couple pics I took last night at Kohl's. She likes the dressing rooms because of the mirrors and she looooooves to look at herself. Last night she stumbled on the 3 way mirror out in the hall and was enjoying herself so much she didn't want to leave. How fun is that for her to see herself not just once but 3 times! My life flashed before my eyes when I got an image of TRIPLETS! And I loved the one where she is kissing the mirror. I know, I don't even want to think about how dirty those store mirrors might be.

Today I took Mackenzie to our local library. Because it's Oregon's 150th birthday they were having a celebration and BJ the Clown was there. Last year we went to a different library to see him. The kids just love him and he does a lot of goofy things with balloons and they really laugh at him. I like that he engages the kids and also has them participate. Mackenzie was even entertained by him and was laughing.
Todays set up was different and more personable then the last time we saw him. This library is older and smaller and he just gathered around the kids. When I saw him before he kind of had a stage set up and the kids all sat on the floor watching him.
(No, that is not Mackenzies drawing. A little girl left it behind.)
Then we went to a grade school to play for a little bit. Mommy really needs to keep an old towel in her car to sop up the puddles on the slides. Mackenzie's pants were soaked and of course she didn't seem to mind.
She is getting so big and is now able to get up on most things by herself. Sometimes she needs a little help but mostly she does it.

One of the smartest things I did when Mack was little was I designated a drawer in the kitchen for her things. It started with just having some plastic containers and wooden spoons in it. But since then she's put her own things in there. It's nice when I'm in the kitchen she can be with, keep out of my way and stay busy.

CHILDRENS FAIR
Last weekend we took MacKenzie to a local childrens event. It was about 25 vendor booths and we mainly went just to see the petting zoo. They also had a pony ride and some other inflatable toys to play on. Along with the petting zoo they had a few exotic animals to view.
not sure what this little guy is called, but he was cute...
These goats and sheep loved the children. Most the time they were hanging their heads clear through the fence to get as much attention as they could. Mackenzie kept her distance.
A scooter Mackenzie size.
Here she is hanging with the big girls...

While I'm all for saving power, not so much when I'm using it. Mackenzie is now enjoying shutting the lights off and then leaving the room and leaving us in the dark. She can only reach the bottom of the rocker switch so that usually means one of us will need to go turn it back on. It's funny the different little things they discover.

This is the part, as a Mom, I need to let go on......letting Mackenzie self feed. It's so much easier, and cleaner, to do it ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I would very much enjoy being able to eat my meal without interruptions of feeding her. But I know the day will come very soon that she will be shoveling down her own food on her own.
The times I do let her feed herself I end up having to take her to the tub afterwards to get the food out of her hair, etc. Working during the week, who has time to give a bath every single night. And to clean up all the extra mess on the chair and floor. I've noticed with these self milestones it's best to try and if it doesn't work, hold back and try later. So that is what we've done. She's been given the spoon in the past but she gets more food elsewhere then in her mouth and since she doesn't have the patience for a 3 hour meal it's just better for us to feed her.
Last night we again gave her the spoon and she seemed more confident and ready and got a lot more easily into her mouth. Of course she loves to use her fingers too. Here she is during her meal being silly...

Mrs Potato Head?
This picture cracked me up! Can you say baby lip injections? I know it's her tongue over her upper lip but at first glance she could be a baby with laaarge lips.
